Position Summary:
We are seeking a Fire Alarm Apprentice to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in fire safety technology. The ideal candidate will work under the guidance of experienced professionals and will have the opportunity to learn about various aspects of fire alarm systems while contributing to the team's success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation, inspection, and maintenance of fire alarm systems in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards.
Learn to identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to fire alarm systems and provide effective solutions.
Support senior technicians in conducting regular testing and verification of fire alarm equipment to ensure functionality and compliance.
Participate in the documentation of service and installation activities, including preparing reports and maintaining accurate records of work performed.
Collaborate with the team to ensure all projects are completed within the designated timeframe and meet quality standards.
Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment at all times.
Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills related to fire alarm technology and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn about fire alarm technology.
Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions from senior technicians.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools as required.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
Vocational or Technical Training in electrical systems or related field is a plus.
Compensation:
$17.00 - $22.00 hourly
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to stand for 8 hours, walk, sit, and climb stairs, or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee will need to be able to withstand working in temperatures that may exceed 100 degrees. The employee will need to have the ability to walk in excess of 1 mile in a day.
