Job Title: Apprentice Coordinator
Department: Apprentice Program
Location: Wurtsmith Airport, Oscoda, Michigan
Reports To: Apprentice Program Manager
SUMMARY:
The Apprentice Coordinator tracks training progress for employees hired into the Kalitta Air A&P apprenticeship program. The apprentice coordinator will work closely with Apprentice Supervisor to help ensure that apprentice technicians are entered into the Kalitta Air computerized training database trackers and the Department of Labor "RAPIDS" training system. The coordinator will also work with the apprentices to collect and track their weekly training documentation. In addition, the Apprentice Coordinator will assist with the initial Human Resources indoctrination of new apprentices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with apprentice supervisor in the coordination and set-up of work schedules and location moves for apprentices.
- Performs course registration/confirmation/notifications for apprentices.
- Maintains computerized Kalitta Air training records and RAPIDS training system for apprentices.
- Maintains apprentice OJT time trackers and provides assistance in accessing apprentice training information.
- Provides assistance to apprentice students.
- Periodically reviews apprentice trackers and training records for accuracy.
- Interfaces with other departments to collect apprentice training information and attendance information when needed.
- Corresponds with Michigan Works and other required agencies to facilitate completion of needed documentation.
- Reviews recurrent training dates for expirations and reports to apprentice supervisor
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the Apprentice Program Manager or Apprentice Supervisor
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The apprentice coordinator will not fulfill a supervisory role.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must be a high school graduate.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Adobe software products such as Word, Publisher and Adobe Acrobat.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have excellent oral, written and organizational skills.
OTHER SKILLS
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be honest, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidential information. Good interpersonal skills required.
