The N.C. Department of Transportation announces the launch of its Transportation Apprenticeship Program, or TAP+. This innovative program is designed to develop a skilled workforce for the future of transportation in North Carolina. NCDOT is partnering with North Carolina’s community colleges to produce TAP+, which will provide hands-on training and career opportunities for aspiring engineering technicians.
Apprentices will gain invaluable experience in various transportation-related fields. TAP+ is committed to creating pathways for individuals from all backgrounds, including those traditionally underrepresented in the transportation industry.

Eligibility Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an Associate of Applied Science program focused on Civil Engineering Technology or Survey/Geomatics Technology
- Interest in a transportation construction and engineering career
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
