Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAs a Sonic Drive In General Manager trainee you will be managing the operations of the drive-in. You will also be responsible for training and supporting the drive-in employees to ensure we provide food and drinks in a clean, safe and efficient manner so that our guests will have an enjoyable experience at Sonic! The job duties include:
- Manages, trains, monitors and coaches drive-in employees, management and conducts orientation.
- Directs and assigns drive-in employees as needed to ensure all aspects of service meet operational standards.
- Adheres to and monitors employee compliance of the drive-in employee handbook policies and practices.
- Takes appropriate action to address employee issues and policy violations and immediately reports all employee issues, complaints, and policy violations to his/her immediate supervisor.
- Performs opening and/or closing duties to standard.
- Prepares employee work schedules; monitors and makes appropriate adjustments to staffing levels.
- Prepare all necessary operational reports. Develop appropriate action plans to resolve unfavorable financial and/or sales trends.
- Develop and implement a marketing plan.
- Complies with all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, labor and employment laws.
- Performs frequent washing and sanitizing of: food areas, food preparation tools and hands.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years previous restaurant management experience (QSR preferred), experience running shifts without supervision.
- Strong leadership qualities and a proven record of success in the restaurant industry.
- Ability to recruit, lead, and motivate a diverse team of employees while ensuring store profitability and growth while striving for great customer satisfaction and fun work environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Basic accounting skills
- Time management skills
- Organizational skills
- Problem solving, decision-making and conflict-resolution skills.
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work a minimum of 60 hours per week with irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays

- Ability to use restaurant planning tools
- Complies with all Sonic Drive-In policies and procedures, and all health and sanitization laws and regulations.
