The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Fox Biomedical Research Technician (BRT) Apprentice in the laboratory of Dr. Italo Tempera.
The BRT Apprentice's responsibilities can include:
Conducting experiments in molecular and cellular biology, genetic engineering, macromolecule (DNA, RNA, protein) isolation, purification, identification, and imaging techniques among others.
Facilitating data analyses of experimental outcomes.
Supporting lab management by monitoring and providing lab resources and supplies, including ordering necessary reagents, preparing daily solutions, and ensuring that experiments can be completed.
Assisting with in-lab organization of data so that records are maintained, easily located and available as needed.
Education requirements: High School diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in biology or similar discipline preferred.
Successful completion of the Biomedical Technician Training (BTT) Pre-apprenticeship Program or equivalent Laboratory experience is a prerequisite for this position.
