We have an immediate opening for a Precision Machining and Grinding Apprentice. The position will be based in our Hopkinton, MA location, supporting manufacturing operations. You will be primarily responsible for machining and grinding components used in our air bearing product line.
We are looking for a candidate who is currently attending or recently graduated from a vocational/technical school with a focus on machining and/or grinding.
What You Will Do:
You will be primarily responsible for machining and flat grinding components used in our air bearing product line.
- Machining low-volume parts using CNC-controlled mini-mill and manual machine tools.
- Precision flat grinding operations using surface grinders (Okamoto) to high precision tolerances.
- Single piece prototypes to low volume production.
- Performing in-process and final inspection on parts and verifying that all print tolerances and specifications are met.
- Work alongside experienced machinists to gain valuable hands-on training.
What Have You Done:
- 0 years of experience. We will provide hands on training for the right candidate.
- Our ideal candidate will be enrolled in or recently graduated from school, enjoys working in a machine-shop environment, and is looking for a start to a career in manufacturing.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- US Citizen or Green Card required - evidence of permanent ability to live and work in the US is an employment contingency for this position.
Additional Details:
- Hours are flexible, 25-40 hours a week.
- All work needs to be conducted during our normal business hours of 7 am - 5 pm Monday to Friday.
