Operations Management Trainee


Central Transport LLC is one of the nation’s leading LTL (Less-than-Truckload) carriers to date. With growth and opportunity at the forefront of our vision for the future, we are excited to launch our flagship Operations Management Trainee Program, geared toward recently graduated or soon-to-be graduating seniors. Throughout this 20-week program, participants will receive extensive hands-on training at our Corporate Office in Michigan and several terminals throughout our nationwide network.


We are currently looking for December graduates for our upcoming class starting January 6th, 2025!


*Hotel stay, travel accommodations and expenses covered by company during program*

  • 8 weeks of training at Headquarters in metro Detroit, MI
  • 6 weeks at an Endline terminal
  • 6 weeks at a HUB terminal


Upon completion of the program, graduates will possess the necessary operational and managerial skills to join our terminal network as Supervisors or Terminal Managers!


Responsibilities:

  • Engage in all aspects of the structured training program and learn all aspects of linehaul, city dispatch, inbound, outbound and HUB operations.
  • Develop knowledge and ability to prepare and plan the daily utilization of resources to ensure a consistent and efficient operation.
  • Learn the methods of on-the-job safety to foster safe handling and loading of hazardous materials.
  • Develop a strong comprehension of the company operational model, policies and procedures.
  • Completes department/area knowledge indicators and develops new indicators as well as process and procedure changes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Career interest in Transportation, Supply Chain or Logistics.
  • Effective organizational and planning skills.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts within a 50-hour work week.
  • Must be willing to travel throughout duration of program with company assistance.
  • Willingness to relocate upon completion of training program with company assistance.
