To provide technical and clerical support to Underwriters in the Property department and learn the underwriting business in order to become an underwriter. The Trainee will help with day to day underwriting assistant activities as well as follow a specific training program set up by VP in property that will be composed of on the job training as well as external courses.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Work closely with the underwriters and our brokers in the underwriting and
documentation process.
· The Underwriting process includes analyzing and reviewing accounts, making a determination on the risk, followed by pricing the risk, if applicable.
· Complete Catastrophe Modeling requests to utilize in AW Pricing Tool
· Update Rate Change reports
· Enter reinsurance placement data into eRe platform
· Become proficient in DRAGON, our new underwriting system, to quote, bind and book accounts.
· Request internal Loss Runs
· Support Underwriting staff in issuing quotes, binders, invoices and endorsements, setting up files.
· Assist in policy wording preparation and policy review.
· Review account files to ensure they are accurate and auditable.
· Follow up with brokers on missing information from files.
· Attend external training courses as requested by VP.
· Work on special projects as needed.
